ZOE THE CAT!

A lot has happened since the last post. First Daddy hurt his finger and Mommy had to take him to the hospital. Nothing major and Daddy came home with a super cool bandage.

Everyday when Daddy gets home we get to go outside to play for 30 min or so. Sometimes it is really windy. I do not like when it is windy because it messes up my beautiful furs. Berry doesn't care what the weather is like.

In the picture below the wind is blowing my furs all over so I have to run inside.

Here I am inside because it is too windy.

Daddy got new tires for his Jeep so the old tires are in our backyard and we get to play on them. Berry likes to play inside them. I like to sit on top of them and plot my escape.

And today is Daddy's birthday!! Mommy made him a cake and we opened presents and they went out to a Mexican restaurant for dinner.

This is the chocolate raspberry cake Mommy made. It looks great but it could use some cheese.

Daddy really loved this birthday cake. He kept making funny noises while eating it. (Mommy here. The cake was chocolate with a raspberry filling, chocolate fudge frosting and fresh raspberries on top.)
All in all November was a great month. Bring on Christmas!! (Berry asks "how many ornaments can I break this year?")

Hunting

Tonight has been prime for bug hunting. We have been sitting outside in the back yard herding buggies into the house to catch. Berry is the best bug hunter I have ever seen. The first bug was caught outside. Berry then took it inside to play with/eat. We have no pictures because she eats the buggies too quickly for pictures. The next bug we both chased into the house. It was then hunted down and Berry ate it again. She didn't even let me play with it. She must have been very hungry. After we herded the third bug into the house, Berry ate that one too by the way, Daddy made us go inside because it was too dark to keep track of Berry. We go out everyday when daddy gets home. I do hope there are lot a bugs out tomorrow night too. Moths are my favorite to play with. Berry likes any and all bugs. Really she likes anything that moves that she can catch. And to Mommy and Daddy's chagrin she always brings anything she catches into the house. Hope everyone has a good buggy night. A secret? If you herd bugs into the house early in the day, you have bugs to play with at night when the hoomans are sleeping.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween here yesterday. First the hoomans carved sum very cool and scary pumpkins. The first carving is a Jayhawk, as in Univ. of Kansas Jayhawks! The school my mommy went to. I, Zoe, think this pumpkin is really cool.

Berry here!! I really like daddy's pumpkin, the mummy in a haunted house! It really scared me the first time I saw it. I was glad that it also scared some candy getters too. At least it is not only me.

We had lots and lots and lots of candy getters last night. We even ran out of candy (well only 3 candy getters didn't get candy. And they were late!!). We both got tired of Halloween so we decided it would be a better use of our time to take a nap. And that is how Halloween at our house ended.

School & Stuff

Mommy has started her school year. Akshully she started a month ago, but has been very busy and not able to write for me. Daddy is not much better. A lot of things have happened since the last blog. the first thing is that Mommy and Daddy bought me a real BED!!

I have had to sleep in a yucky blanket. It was nice and soft and warm but a real bed is much better. I sleep in it every night. Sometimes I have to sleep in my blanket bed because it looks like it is sad and lonely. Berry doesn't sleep in a bed. She likes to sleep in strange places like the floor at the foot of the hoomans bed or on the hoomans bed. They move around too much for me so I like my beds on the floor.

We get to go outside everyday now. We have so much fun.

The hoomans growed us some cat grass and we eat it everyday as soon as we go outside. Did you know there are lota bugs and birds outside? Berry loves to chase them. Flies are her favorite and we have lota flies. She sometimes herds them inside for later. I don't like flies. They are too buggy. Our outside time is great and it happens everyday which is even better!

Mommy and Daddy have been cooking lota good smells in the kitchen. Mommy cooked a yummy smelly chicken.

Berry begged for sum but I just waited until there was sum in my bowl after cleanyup. Mommy can't resist giving us chicken. Daddy just cooked a beef wellington. They shared it with sum gud friends of theirs. We loved them to because one of them is alergic to cats. We love her the best! We did not get any beef wellington though. Daddy kept saying that it was too gud and expensive for kitties. I disagree! The pictures below are proof of our escapades.

Make Bed for Daddy

Daddy has been spoiling Berry and me since Mommy left. Sometimes he run around the house with a feather tied to a string so we can practice killing birds. Daddy takes us outside so we can chase flies and go the bathroom in the sand.

Tonight, I help Daddy make the bed.

After being so helpfull, my sister and I wrestled and played.

Houston

Well...Mommy went to Houston again to visit her family. I thought we were her only family but I guess not. I remember my times at the Houston home. They were fun. Mommy is staying there for 2 weeks. Berry and I are left at home with Daddy. Daddy is good...but Mommy gives us better pettings. And Berry doesn't like to lick Daddy's ears. They don't taste as good as Mommy's for some reason. I think it is weird. Anyway...she is away spending time with Sandy and Kink. I like them so its OK. We are having a great time with Daddy. He plays with us all day and feeds us and loves us. What could be better? Mommy calls every night. She has gone swimming and to the aquarium to see penguins. I learned that penguins are a bird. They must taste good. I wish Berry and I could have gone to see penguins also. Yummmm..... When Mommy gets home in 2 weeks she will post pictures she says. She left her computer here with us. We love to sleep on it. it is so warm! I'll keep you updated on everything she does.

Scary Monster Baby

This past weekend we had visitors. One of them was a scary baby. Mommy said he was only 3 months old, but to me he was a big scary monster. He would squeal... alot... and wave his arms. No thank you. I spent most of the weekend up stairs in Mommy and Daddy's room (really my room). The baby stayed here for almost 3 days! It was horrible. he took over the whole house. There was nowhere for me to go. I was getting desperate. I finally told Berry to go and inspect the baby. If she came back unharmed I guess it was safe to walk around downstairs where the baby was. It took 1 day for Berry to say the baby was safe. I had to check for myself. I went downstairs when the baby was sleeping and checked it out. It seemed harmless, especially when it was sleeping. Below are some pictures of the baby. Mommy says his name is Tony. The first picture is when Berry is inspecting the scary monster baby's carrier thing. The second picture is me looking at baby Tony. The third picture is just of baby Tony. And the fourth picture is of Berry playing with the baby's play mat.

Today is my birthday. I am two years old.

I was born in a trailer-park. Since I did not have a regular home, some human rescued me and then I was found by my family.

I was little when I moved in with Zoe

I like puzzles.

I like to play in my tunnel.

I love to go outside and eat grass.

I also like to sleep in silly places.

But most of all, I just like to lounge...

Escape!!

Hello! it's been AGES since I have written, but it is not my fault! Mom has been VERY busy with grad school and said she did not have time to write. So she says. Anyway, lots of exciting things have happened in the last month. For one, I turned four. I can't believe I am four! For my birthday I gots 2 new mousies. Berry has already eated one's tail. I am not letting Berry touch the other mousie.

The most exciting story is that I escaped!! I am very proud. I have been trying to take a look out front for a while now. It was the perfect escape. Mommy and Daddy didn't even know I was gone. So, to start, Daddy was out with his Jeep making room for future groceries, but he did not close the door all the way. Mommy was playing with us upstairs and when she went down, I sneaked down behind her and opened the door further so I could get out. Mommy saw the door and told Daddy, but they thought I was upstairs with Berry. Funny huh? Now they go to the grocery store and I am OUTSIDE!! YAY! But then I wanted in, but no one was home! I had to wait.

Finally, 2 hrs later, Mommy and Daddy came home. Mommy saw me walking around by the front door and jumped out of the car and grabbed me. I was very happy to be inside again. Then they panicked and thought Berry was outside also, but I am a good big sister and did not let her go out. She was asleep upstairs on the tower. During the evening Berry sniffed me lots. Gud outside smels, I gots 'em. That was my big adventure. I will tell you about my other adventures later.

Happy Valentines Day!

We hope everykitty had a great Valentines Day. Mommy and Daddy didn't do much today. In the morning they each made their own Valentines Day cards. I liked Mommy's better, but Berry liked Daddy's. This afternoon, they went to the beach. But instead of walking on the beach they drove on the beach. There is a spot here where you can drive all over the sand dunes and that is exactly what they did. Mommy said it was a lot of fun. Now they are enjoying a Valentines day treat and champagne. Hope you all have had a great Valentines day!

October has been a busy month for us. Mommy has been very busy with school. And Daddy has been working 0n pereecting his beach bum skills. Actually he has just found a job, which is good because we need our toys. We have finally setteled into our new house. We like it very much. Berry and I love to play Thundering Herd of Elephants on the stairs at 5am. We also carved pumkins!! We have never carved pumpkins before. It is strange. I had Berry check it out incase it was dangerous. It wasn't dangerous, but verey smelly. Daddy gave Berry a pumpkin seed to play with. When she started to eat it mommy took it away. Too bad...I wanted to know what they tast like. Below are some pictures of our busy October.

These are the pumkins that we carved. The one on the right is the one Daddy carved. I think it is a Harry Potter Pirate Pumkin. I like Mommy's pumkin better. (Don't tell Daddy)

Everyone thinks this is a silly plae to sit, but I think it is the best place. I can look out the window and keep an eye on the kitchen.

Here is Berry helping Daddy study for a test for work.

I think this is a riduclous hiding place, but Berry gets in here everyday. She wants to tell you that it is the best place to hide to jump out at people.

Here we are practiving our balancing act on the banister. I was in here by myself and then Berry jumped in as sat on me so I moved over. She better not jump out or I will fall down the stairs.

This is the best place to sleep on the cold nights. On Mommy's lap on her robe. Best end to a busy month I think.

Supervising a Birthday

It is not easy supervising.
Day in and day out I am telling others what to do.

It's my gift.

Today, I had to make sure that everything went right for my mommy's birthday. In human years, she is 25. I wanted some simple gifts for her, a cake, champagne, and a nice dinner. Since the man of the house is likely to forget she has a birthday, I left him some clues. I carved a heart in his leg while he was sleeping...no response, but a little messy. I decided I had to be more "direct", so I just ordered some books from Amazon. When they arrived the following week, the male human signed for the UPS package, shrugged, and said, "I'm good!"

The activities of the day included me making a list for daddy, keeping my sister, Blackberry, out of trouble, deciding where to go for dinner, chilling the champagne, cooking the cake, decorating the cake, and, finally, the gifts.

While Tom, the man of the house, was getting the cake supplies, I was power napping. I put some Benadryl in Blackberry's food and she seems to be sleeping soundly.

So, I was still tired and groggy from my nap, so I had my sister, Blackberry, make the cake and frost it. I instructed her to make a double decker cake. I tried to tell her the proper way to do it, but it looked horrible! That's what happens when you don't do it yourself!

I had to jump down from my cat tower and finish the cake.

I chose a nice place for the humans to eat dinner in nearby Santa Maria. It was an American cuisine with a Louisiana twist. The place was called Chef Ricks. I found out about this place from my friend Lars who is a band called Metallica. Here's a picture with him and the Chef.
The humans arrived home after dark sometime. It was time for the party!

Cake was eaten, champagne was drank, then it was time to open gifts. My mommy got two books and a cards from all of us.

It was a tough day for me but it was worth it...Happy Birthday Mommy!

All Moved In

We are all moved in (except for a couple of book boxes). But those will be tackled this weekend. Today marks the end of the first week of graduate school for Mommy. I think she likes it but she spends lots of time in the Study room reading books. I guess its back to the school grind. I remember all the studying she did for her undergraduate aerospace engineering degree. Blackberry does not know what she is doing. She always tries to help Mommy relax. Last night she sat on Mommy's shoulders and kneaded her neck while Mommy was reading. It did not seem to help much. But I will teach her the best way to help is to sit on the computer/papers/books that are being used.

It is nice to have a house with stairs to play in. Blackberry was scared of them at first and did not know how to use them. Since I am an expert I showed her how to race up and down them playing Thundering Herd of Elephants. It is fun to play when all the lights in the house are off! I also taught her how to sit on a stair in the mornings and wait for Daddy to walk down them. He gets scared all the time. Mommy knows not to walk down the stairs when Berry or I are there. Daddy's not so smart. Hehehe.

We are glad that our family in Houston is OK from IKE. Bad, scary IKE. Our family did not have power for a week, but other than minor damage everything is OK. If you want to check out IKE's wrath with our family you can go to my Mommy's DAD's blog. And Mommy's sister just set up her FIRST BLOG. No kitties, but maybe a puppy in the near future. we will have to see.

When the house is cleaned this weekend I will post pics of our new place. I am sure you will love it!

Almost Move Time

Well...the time has almost come to move. The moving truck arrives tomorrow and the parents will pack everything up and then leave the next morning. Everything in the house that can go in a box has been boxed up. The best thing about this is the love seat in the living room as been turned up on its side to make room for all the boxes! this has created a great playground for me and Blackberry. It has become Blackberry's favorite sleeping spot. As always I will have to be the supervisor tomorrow during the loading of the U-Haul truck. We will post new pictures of our new house. I have been told that it has stairs! I can't wait to test them out at 2am.

Well....it finally happened. My feeders got married. They left is at home for 2 weeks while they went to Sonoma and got married at a winery. Then they went to Maui on a honeymoon. I can't believe they didn't take us with them! Now we are all going to have to change our last name to Johnson. And we are a whole family. They just got back from Maui so I am going to go cuddle. There will be many pics to follow.
